"Yeoman Camp at Salt Creek" (part of the Brush Creek drainage). Multiple log buildings, corrals and fencing are seen. Several miles further up East Brush Creek Rd. is the old mining town of Fulford. This photo was taken prior to the CCC camp built in the 1930s at Yeoman Park. The site has been a favored camping and fishing place since the settlement of Eagle.

3. Maloit Park

Maloit Park showing the playground area in the back left. The park is east of Minturn on Highway 24 approximately two miles.
The New Jersey Zinc Co. recreation grounds were renamed Maloit Park in November of 1958. The park was dedicated on July 4th, 1959, becoming a public facility. Frank Maloit retired in the spring of 1959 after being affiliated with the Company at Gilman since 1922.

Part of the old recreation area was used for the disposal of mill tailings. "Our ball field succumbed to a gravel pit. ...Our fish ponds were covered with tailings, also part of the golf course, most of the dusty roads and best picnic areas. Many of us asked for Company help in starting over again. Our pleas didn't fall on deaf ears....
